I, Shine

Dull metallic grey clouds stealing across charred sky. Smothered isolated faces of passersby, like smoking embers in distance. Matchstick yellowing grass juts zombified, out of clodden dirt ground.

My feet pad across concrete path. I step rubber-soled leather shoes and hooded. Twin blades unsheathed ready to practice Mui Fah Wu Dip Dao (Plum Blossom Butterfly Swords).

Deadened sun reflects, glinting off steel as swords swish and swirl.

Gung Fu.

I shine.
